Naomi has more than thirty years of experience in tourism and marketing and is degree-qualified in tourism.
She is passionate about regional tourism, being born and bred in beautiful Port Lincoln and studying tourism in Adelaide some 25+ years ago.
Dedicated Service to the Tourism Industry
After gaining her degree, Naomi worked in tourism consulting and market research in Adelaide, before relocating back to Port Lincoln and becoming a tourism lecturer at TAFE for nine years.
In 2001 she started a marketing agency, Woof Design & Print, with her husband and their client base rapidly became dominated by the tourism industry.
During this time Naomi became a founding member of her region’s new tourism marketing board and for ten years was involved in marketing one of South Australia’s most exciting regions, the Eyre Peninsula.
She served for over ten years on Eyre Peninsula tourism marketing boards and Port Lincoln Chamber of Commerce as the tourism marketing representative.
At the same time, Naomi was also responsible for starting her home town’s official visitor guide whilst a member of the local chamber of commerce and tourism. All this work was in a volunteer capacity and for ten years Naomi donated her time and expertise to growing tourism in her region and hometown.
Naomi has been involved in tourism industry training, having conceived and delivered town ambassador customer service training for the tourism industry whilst at TAFE. She also delivered social media marketing workshops in the region for industry.
In 2018, Naomi handed the baton of leadership to Peter Freeman, and continues to work with WOOF Media clients in a specialist tourism marketing and advisory capacity.
Naomi is extremely knowledgeable about the tourism industry, and has been a treasure trove of support, expertise and inspiration. She is warm, responsive, effective and so encouraging of my new start up. I now have a workable marketing plan which I can action.
Leadership, Innovation and Growth
She led the company in its growth from a predominately print based marketing studio, Woof Design & Print, to a highly-regarded tourism marketing agency, WOOF Media, who provide the latest advice and services in tourism marketing best practice.
Over the past 17 years, Naomi, along with her team, has produced up to eight visitor guides annually. In 2014, Naomi was responsible for rebranding the Eyre Peninsula’s town visitor guides using the new state brand, unifying the region’s tourism marketing efforts around shared local branding. She also delivered the region’s very popular Nullarbor Map including digital and an app for the local development board, along with their Culinary Adventure Guide in print and online.
For her work in creating the innovative dedicated digital guide for Port Lincoln, Naomi was a finalist in the 2015 Winnovation Awards in Adelaide.
Naomi has more recently been appointed marketing partner with the iconic Birdsville and Innamincka Hotels and she works one-on-one with emerging tourism operators in devising their marketing plans and coordinating their execution.
