Our brief from Digital Coaching International, based on the comprehensive digital strategy they developed for The Banana Shire, was to create a website that would inspire and educate the target markets about how to experience the destination.
Information architecture was critical in the website planning process as the Banana Shire does not have a large footprint of commercial tourism products.
Therefore, our main focus was linking together large quantities of related information (events, news stories, locations, things to do) in a way that encouraged website visitors to stay on the site and discover the hidden gems of the region that they would later visit on a self-drive holiday.
Launched in July 2016, the Sandstone Wonders website has been very well received by Council, the local community and businesses across the region. They are now working on the next phase of their digital strategy implementation.
You were extremely responsive to the short timetable for the project and never let us feel like we were asking for too much. Banana Shire have gone from ground zero to having a modern digital strategy in place that reflects the experiences and target markets for the region.
